Thanks for the clarification - with the problems being with laptop suspends, etc, it sounded like a power management problem and thus I thought people had transposed ACPI into APIC and not noticed. I'm aware that ACPI is immature, but it does at least work for my home SMP box to do a power off at shutdown. :-) As the APT part of the cooker mirror is still broken I'm still running a pre-Xmas cooker, so I'm probably way behind most people here. But at least it works. cheers, Chris - -- Christopher Samuel [dstl] +44 1684 771134 L007, DSTL, St Andrews Road, Malvern, UK - DSTL is part of the UK MoD DISCLAIMER: The views expressed above are just those of the author and do not represent the views, policy or understanding of any other entity -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iQCVAwUBPGEHblJ7nmUlvnM9AQHvzQP/YHBkw/mr30cm5CXg9BFZ/ZAdIk9k8ZWt nHx9SR/x7ofaaAhq66zzNOPyrOP9LGn5Cy+ak3avOyyomTLD3Q1aJYpnfUvGDb+7 rZiutIg+AdRN9xzv+rcn60si6wQxIhXNqPPLFCIIYyFuCXVXSMfnBaKqbG3LC44T dm87ToqG/Yw= =iwDg -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
