Juan, The kernel used at install time will probably need to have APIC turned off.
I have my laptop set to power off the screen after 4 minutes. During the beta installs, the install would start but then freeze some time later. It wasn't until I was doing an install and decided to move to another room (unplugging the laptop along the way) that I discovered that the freezing problem was related to power management. I think if a regular user tries a Mandrake install and has it hang three or four times at installation, they will probably switch to a different product. darrell
