rpmrebuilds on an Athlon (650mhz) using any kernel source are being done as i386 and
Not as the proper i686.

After this problem occurred with the nvidia src rpms I decided to test with another
source rpm.
I dled and rebuilt emelfm-0.9.2-2mdk.scr.rpm.
This also was built as a i386 rpm.
Thinking this might be caused by the -22 kernel source I uninstalled it and
reinstalled the -21 kernel source.
All pkgs now rebuilt using it were also built as i386.
This leads to the conclusion the the fault lies with rpm-4.2.3-7mdk.
In '- added compile options for k6 and corrected alpha and other ix86'
something must have also been altered as relates to Athlons now forcing
builds on then to be done as i386 instead of i686.

Addendum:
The same behavior is occurring on an 800mhz Duron.
Rpms are built as i386.
On system with AMD XP builds are properly done as i686.
