You need to tweak a bit with the .rpmrc, mine has that buildarchtranslate: i386: i586 buildarchtranslate: i486: i586 buildarchtranslate: i586: i586 buildarchtranslate: i686: i586 buildarchtranslate: athlon: i586 obviously, you want some of them not translated. With kernel 2.4.18, it will work if you put: buildarchtranslate: athlon: i686 There is still not case for Athlon, but there will be.
