No, it does not switch for me. The ALSA driver cannot be changed that way for me (I tried that).

The upside:

Now KMid works, animated channels display and all!
ALSA does midi.


The downside:

BUT no sound comes out of KMix's PCM channel <sob>, no matter which of the four installed MIDI maps I choose, including 'none'.
I do not know what you mean with sound from kmix's pcm channel? You mean pcm does not do the volume of midi sound?
Yes, what else could I mean? The sound volume produced by KMid is zero and that is not affected by either the KMid volume control or the KMix or aumix PCM volume controls (these latter two are coupled) or any other mixer channel volume control.
