I would like to point out a problem with the network configuration tool in
Mandrake control panel.
You can choose a list of drivers on a list, but you cannot enter yourself the
name of the module to use, like in linuxconf. That would be relevant, especially
in expert mode.

For example, I helped a friend of mine to configure his cable network card, a
MYSON MDT8xx. The module has been compiled in the 9.0 final, but apparently has
been added at the last minute. So the corresponding module (fealnx) exists, but
it is not in the list of proposed modules in drakconnect. It was loaded in
memory, dhcpcd too, so at the install it was correctly recognised (but the
network was not working). But despite that, since there was no way to pass
through the network module choice in drakconnect, there was no way to setup the
network. We had to configure everything by editing the config files. A newbie
would be lost.
