One more note about this... The 60gb Maxtor is the only hard drive in the
system. It is hooked up to the PDC20276 as master. The CDROM drives are
hooked up on the standard IDE: Toshiba DVD-ROM is primary slave, LiteOn burner
is secondary master. Only the Maxtor is hooked up on the PDC20276 and fails
all detection as a device that can be used for filesystems.

In v9.0, the installer would detect all of the drives and find the hard drive
(even without loading a SCSI driver like ataraid), but then all of a sudden
the CDROM drives would quit working. I tried moving drives around and
jumpering everything to no avail... dunno if that provides any clues, but I've
not been able to use Mandrake on this motherboard at all. Here's to hoping it
gets solved for 9.1! :)

9.1 RC1 installation fails on an Asus P4B533-E motherboard with the
MBFasttrack133 controller. The installer detects that a SCSI interface is in
the machine and asks for which module to load. I choose ataraid.o and the
installer reports that the module was successfully loaded and the SCSI
interface was found.

Then it asks if there are any others. No matter what I choose at this
point... If I say "No," it will report that there are no devices available to
install filesystems. If I say "Yes," it naturally drops me back to the SCSI
module selection screen.

My hard drive is hooked up to this PDC20276 controller. My CDROMs are hooked
up to standard IDE controller apart from the PDC20276. Since this problem
existed in 9.0 (in a much much worse way) I was really looking forward to 9.1
solving this!
