In the meantime changed motherboard to an a7n8x and still the same story. The problem lies within the 2.4.21-0.11mdkBOOT kernel. (If it's a framebuffer kernel problem?) I managed to install RC2 in text mode and the installed kernel works just fine. I guess the BOOT and "normal" kernels differ ;-) Paul Misner: Sorry for the late reaction but I was on hollidays. This is a showstopper for the installation! Tried on 2 setups: P4 2.5 with ati 9700 Asus p4pe and AMD 2000+ with nvidia ti4600 Asus a7v8x. Both motherboards (after previous failure) flashed with the newest (beta) Bios -> Same problem. Same setup with 512 MB works just fine. CU PacMan
