------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-06 19:57 ------- OK, there we go: I downloaded the new Cooker tree with te new 2.4.21-0.12mdk and the 2.4.21-0.12mdkBOOT rpms in it. I then built the ISO's, burned the first one and checked again. Still no bananas. I then pressed F1 on boot and the text states that the default kernel is still 2.4.21-0.11mdkBOOT. I assume I am missing something, maybe someone could help me (give me instructions) on how to get the 2.4.21-0.12mdkBOOT kernel in the ISO (to boot from)? Nicolas: I am NOT using a beta Bios, I just used one to see if the problem was bios related and if it (maybe) had been solved. From your last remark I got the impression that you are under the assumption that this is a problem after installation (the kernel-enterprise option only appears after installation). This is NOT the case. The 2.4.21-0.11mdk kernel boots just fine and I even can use X after the text installation. The problem only occurs when trying to INSTALL in graphical mode. Yes, even the vgalo option gives a kernel panic. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: Hi, When installing Mandrake 9.1 RC1 on a computer with 1024MB (1 gig) of memory after the initial "install screen" the computer just dies and the caps lock and scroll lock start blinking. This is a showstopper for the installation! Tried on 2 setups: P4 2.5 with ati 9700 Asus p4pe and AMD 2000+ with nvidia ti4600 Asus a7v8x. Both motherboards (after previous failure) flashed with the newest (beta) Bios -> Same problem. Same setup with 512 MB works just fine. CU PacMan
