Melinda Lee, who has a cooking show on KNX radio, a local news station in Los Angeles, has said the same thing about the newer slow cookers. The cookers will now bring things to a low boil and boil away liquid more quickly. I can no longer go to work and leave something in the Crockpot all day. When I return home ten to twelve hours later, it is ruined. I believe--but I am not certain--that Melinda Lee said the food would be done in five to seven hours, instead of the ten to twelve hours we were used to with the old slow cookers. I've not been able to get the timing right. It's maddening! Jennifer
