If using the tomatoes for canning, for soup and sauces, considering freezing them. Cut off a round the stem. Place in a freezer bag and freeze them. Wash them first. Just cut around the core with a knife.  I never take out the seeds!  I
know that some people do, but I think tomatoes are delicious with and
without their seeds!  I have read that you can take out the seeds by
cutting the tomatoe in half, holding each half over a bowl and
squeezing gently.  Truly though, why bother?
