I don't think this recipie for popcorn is necessarily always unsafe. For example, after thinking about it for a minute, if you put a paper plate under the brown paper bag when you cook it it becomes very easy to remove the bag after cooked and then you can wait until it cools down. Unless you use a crazy amount of oil which this recipie does not call for you should be totally fine. Just my thoughts

I'm sorry but that statement about if I haven't tried something I don't know whether it is safe or not shows a huge lack of thought. I have not stuck my hand into boiling water. But, I know that is dangerous. There's a whole lot of something called common sense dude. Oil soaks through standard paper. That is a scientific fact unless that paper is specially produced. If you heat oil to much and if there are flamable items like paper present, fire may result if the conditions are right. Fact from my fire department. But, dude, since you plan to take somebody's word over common sense, then go play in grease and paper and if you get burnt or set the house afire, don't complain. I'm only trying to help you and everyone who replied to you said add the butter after popping. But, you didn't listen to a single one of us. So, have it your way. -----Original Message----- From: Charles Rivard Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2014 6:10 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [CnD] true?, or false. True, but if you haven't tried it, you don't have any firsthand knowledge as to whether it is safe or not. If personal experience proves unsafe, fine. But a web search is not knowledge from personal experience, which is what I'm looking, as it is reliable rather than chancy. --- Be positive!
