Griffiths Valuation 1859 lists Thomas Donaldson in Tullynure. He had plot 55 which was a 15 acre farm which he shared with James Donaldson.

This looks to be Thomas?s death in 1891, aged 84. His wife had died before that.

James Donaldson died in 1886 aged 78. He was a bachelor. He was Thomas?s brother. Interestingly the informant for the death was a Charles McCann of Caneese. Perhaps a relation of Thomas McCann who married Hannah?

Probate abstract. Letters of Administration of the personal estate of James Donaldson late of Tullynure County Londonderry Farmer who died 10 November 1886 at same place were granted at Londonderry to Thomas Donaldson of Tullynure Farmer the Brother.
1831 census of Tullynure lists a Robert Donaldson whose family consisted of
3 males and 7 females. All Church of Ireland. At a guess, Robert may be Thomas & James father.

No Donaldsons in Tullynure by the 1901 census.
1901 census of Caneese lists a Charles McCann, aged 70, farming. Family was Roman Catholic. So that?s probably the Charles who was the informant for James? death.

In 1831 there was a John McCann in Caneese. A total of 4 males, 4 females, all RC. 2 families
living under the one roof:

Caneese and Tullynure share a common boundary so the McCann and Donaldson families lived very close to each other. Just a few hundred yards between the two properties.
Lissan RC baptism & marriage records are complete from 1839 onwards. Between 1822 and 1838, some fragments have survived.
So the Donaldsons from Tullynure appear to have been Church of Ireland, not Presbyterian and the McCanns/McCarrons appear to have been Roman Cath
olic. Yet you say the family was Presbyterian in the US. Either they switched lanes somewhere or perhaps it?s not the right family.
