We have travelled twice to Ireland. The first time, we toured the entire perimeter of Ireland and Northern Ireland, to get a real feel for this beautiful land. The tour was called “Amazing Ireland”, and for good reason!!! It was with Trafalgar Tours.
Our second visit focused on my family heritage in Omaha, Londonderry, and surrounding areas. I was able to find the burial places of 6 ancestors. As far as looking for restaurants, you will want to experience the many, many pubs, which are EVERYWHERE! Pub fare and the community life in these lively spots are not to be missed. In my experience, fine dining is not the norm, its all about the neighbourhood spots for good food, cold beer or a well poured Guiness. The friendly chatter is fun, and often educational, and there is often great music to tap your toes to.
