Dallas,
I'll keep in touch and let you know how it is going. My plan is to get
everything as ready as possible for installation and then do it as quickly
as
possible to minimize down time. I am going to use the instrument
locations
that
came with the kit and will only be adding a CHT gauge. I'm still trying
to
figure out the radio installation as my radio fits well, but my old
transponder
takes up too much room. I also need to convert the plane to the bubble
windshield and am still waiting for it to arrive. Did you need to change
your
windshield too? If so, was it difficult? I will also be doing the ram's
horn
yoke conversion from Skyport. I bought the last pair available until
Skyport
gets the STC. I hope they work out well. As far as the increased cowl
height
is concerned, I have placed the eyebrow piece on my current panel and
checked
the view. I don't think it will be a problem for me as I am 6'3" tall and
can
plainly see the entire top of the cowl past the eyebrow piece. I only
lose
a
small amount of vision on the left side of the cowl which can be easily
seen
if
needed by repositioning my head a small amount to the left. I think the
better
gauge placement will more than make up for this minor inconvenience.
That's
about all I know at this point. You are a lot further along than I am so
I
hope
some of this information may be useful to you. One advantage I have is
that
I
only live about 30 min. from Skyport so Lee is always available for
questions or
if I need to take a look at actual parts and assemblies. If anything
comes
up
that you need another opinion to make a decision I can always go to
Skyport
to
ask Lee and look at parts and pictures.

Keep in touch,
Dan
