Don,

You probably already have an attenna on the plane unless the plane never
had
radios.  I just tapped into the old antenna with an adapter and coax  to
the
handheld.  I did that until I had an Apollo SL40 installed.  The same
antenna was used for that too I think.  I don't remember the cost so it
was
way less than $300.
