If you check out part 43 in the appendix it will list what's considered a
major alteration. I think what we are discussing doesn't qualify as a
major
alteration at all, assuming it is just a simple installation that doesn't
require a redesign of the whole electrical system (you know how projects
can
get out of hand) but many mechanics just want to cover their tail all all
