At the risk of starting WW3, what are the rules on fitting replacement and new instruments? Seems to me that the newer/better ones are not TSO'd. If the instrument wasn't part of the original type certificate, can a non-TSO'd guage be fitted? Where, if anyone knows, is the ruling reference? Does the same rule apply to fuel shut-off valves?
