After you get through checking everything, calibrating and sealing
baffles, I 
recommend you try plugging the oil tank air inlet. That's the square one 
above the carburetor air intake. Try a flight with that particular air
inlet 
closed. I think you will find more even cooling, and cooler running CHT's.
I 
guess I missed the information on what model Coupe you are having these 
problems with. However, I think you will find that #2 cylinder should be
the 
one that runs the hottest if everything else is correct.
