Interesting observation. I'd been thinking about switching back to
straight-weight
for the summer and winter for a while, and now I think I will do so.

Here in the Northeast, the Spring and Fall are too variable, and multi-vis
is
a good idea unless you are prepared to swap every week. However, the
summer is dependably hot and the winter dependably cold. I tend to believe
that the straight stuff clings better to the surfaces during the
inevitable
long
pauses in winter. And I have tended to see better oil pressures and
slightly lower temps with 100W in the summer, vs 20/50.

One other reason I like straight-weight... ...the multi-vis stuff is a
MESS!
Every time I check the oil, I end up dripping it somewhere I don't want
it,
because it's so very thin and watery. So I go through three extra paper
towels, two for the airplane and one for me.
