FWIW I also had oil temps close to red line in the summer. I installed the C-85 baffles and an El Reno Oil Filter kit and since then my hot day oil temps do not get up over 190 degrees. I still have problems getting the oil hot in the winter even with a baffle plate. The oil filter adds additional cooling due to its surface area.
