One odd item to consider if the noise is present with the engine running but only with the Coupe in the air and not on the ground, is the ground straps on the ailerons, elevator and rudders. Several of mine were missing and the rest totally corroded in half. Univair does not carry them anymore so I made some out of terminal lugs and tinned braid that is available from Radio Shack and Aircraft spruce. Soldered the braid into the lugs and attached them across a hinge on each aileron, rudder and elevator.
