In your car, use alcohol fuel to scavenge the water. I've heard that
the alcohol comes out of suspension in the presence of water and
combines with the water. This gives a mixture that will go through the
engine without engine stoppage.

I've had one forced landing from frozen fuel line at -5 degrees. The
frozen water in the bottom of the tank melted during a 2 hour cross
country and refroze in the metal fitting where the fuel line goes
through the firewall.

I'm a telling you! When we put auto gas-line-deicer in the nose tank
that ice and the ice in the gascolator melted within seconds!

I've also had two automobile gas-line ice-ups, both solved quickly by
this de-icing stuff. And, I've never had automobile gas-line-ice when
using gasohol.

I wish I could regularly use a gas-line-deicer in my plane in winter but
the automotive kinds are not approved for planes because of the fuel
system materials airplanes use. I know that, when I've tried to put
automobile gas-line-deicer in my plane, some nasty brown polutants come
down to the gascolator and engine.

If anyone knows of any FAA approved gas-line-deicer, please let me know.
