Finn, As to fuels that absorb water vs fuels that separate water
.....

I asked myself the same question--- many times...... and decided that in
the
case of automobiles, without a sump drain, then water absorption might be
desireable - and that kept in susspension, might not cause problems like
even
carburetter iceing, or fuel line /fuel pump freezing problems.....
resulting
in an anti-freeze fuel.

But, Having the ability to drain the water, from an airplane sump, keeping
water out of the fuel lines and fuel pump, etc.,; I decided I would rather
have the ability to eliminate the water content.... Hopefully this helps
prevent carb icing, fuel pump failure from freezing, and carb damage from
freezing or corrosion due to water containing gasoline..

Maybe we can get the Gasoline companies to produce a anti freeze gasoline
that
would contain the water, but not seperate, or freeze.....then on the
combustion of the fuel, separate the water into hydrogen and oxygen making
it
an automatic water injection fuel...

I certainly may not be correct in my logic tree; but this also follows
the
proceedure for determining the alcohol content of gasolines. The alcohol
portion doing the water absorption.... I do like the azbility of draining
water from my tanks.... wish I could do so in my auto...

Harry
