First off (for those who have followed my high oil temp saga),
the new cylinders are doing fine, we have
about 5 hours on them and during the first couple of hours
the oil temperature was much cooler than before, even on a very hot day.
I'm convinced now that blowby was the reason for the high oil temps.

I do have a couple of questions for the experts here :-)

1) Is it normal for fuel to slowly drain from the header tank to the
wing tanks over a period of a few days? It doesn't overflow, since
the wing tanks are ultimately vented to the header anyway.

2) This engine has an rpm range at around 1800-2000 where it acts like
the
prop is slightly unbalanced, but at other speeds it is smooth. The engine
is
a C-90 with a 70-48 (I'g guessing on the 70, I don't have the book handy)
prop that has been re-pitched to 70-50. Maybe this has something to do
with it, I don't know.

Does anyone else have this resonant vibration at this RPM range?

When I had the prop off, I checked the balance in an amateurish way, and
it
seemed perfect, certainly waaay better than the prop on my C-65, which
doesn't
have any obvious resonant shaking at any speed.

Anyhow, just wondered if this is "normal".
