a mechanic friend of mine was taking a compression check on a ercoupe, here a while back...he had the top plugs out of the engine and the key on the instrument panel in plain sight...mags....OFF...he turned the prop to get it to tdc, and the engine fired...he had his thumb over the hole....burned the H....K out his thumb,....mag was HOT internally (slick, of course), but other than that all was ok....moral, i guess, is don't trust that PROP!...jolly in aurora, oregon
