> Like Wayne, I have never had a problem with vapor-lock, or the engine
quitting in my Alon in my eight years of ownership. Although there was an
ATC approval for using auto fuel in my airplane when I bought it, I chose
not to use it. Why? I have heard stories of other airplanes having
vapor-lock problems when using auto gas. Notably, these were Cherokee
140s
and Cessna 152s. Flying is not a cheap sport. This should be realised
going in. Cutting corners by using automotive oil, automotive fuels and
non-approved parts, in my mind, is penny wise, dollar foolish and is
courting disaster!
