>Just as I lifted off, there was an incredible left rolling tendency!
Really caught me off guard. I had to keep the yoke 90 degrees to the right
just to keep the plane level.

> I called the mechanic about the rolling tendency. He said that he was
wondering why the right aileron was set a little differently than the left
(Torque rod adjustment) He said that he just reset them to 55 year old
tolerances!

Bob:

I would suggest that you check your rudder riggings. What I've read about
incorrect rudder riggings indicates yours may be connected backwards.
Someone may have made changes over the years to correct for the rigging
problems and the A&P put it back to standard and caused you the roll.

If you have rudder pedals (415-c,d models) the cables should run straight
from the left rudder to left pedal, right to right. If you don't have
pedals the cables should cross in the back section of the plane and the
left rudder cable should connect to the right side of the bell crank. The
right cable to the left side.

Hope all your flights are less memorable than this one.

Jack
