While i was at an FAA semanar on home built parts, he ask if i thought my patr was as good or better than the orignal? I said mine is a lot better. Why ? mine is not broken. the lecture was trying to tell the A&P they shouldent make any. If a Part breaks, I try to fix it so it won't do it again, because I am flying it and i don't like broken parts while i am flying. On Cessna fuel blatters a few years back, there was an AD writen but FAA let the Manafacture to use all of there stock. So I Watch these important pepple Vary Close.
