I know there are a lot of people that are not mechinicaly inclined, now when they are your FAA engineer then I don't always do things there way. The engineer that wrote the AD on retarding the timing on the 0200 told me when I talked to him on the phone, that retarding the timing 4% reduces the pressure in the cylinder But you dont loose any hp. With that thinking why not leave a row of sparkplugs out. When i fly i don't like suprises unless they are good ones, like a tail wind.
