Percy,
When N99893 went down, the FAA, released the plane without ever seeing it
in the
field... we put a guard around it for the night. they really were not
interested in it.

The following day our insurance, released the plane to us and paid to have
it
removed from the field and place into our hanger.

No insurance adjuster ever saw N99893.... about 1 week later the NTSB.
which
happen to be a FAA inspector out of the San Jose, office ventured into
Salinas,
to have a look at the plane, by this time the insurance had paid off to
us and
we bought her back from the insurance company.

The so called FAA/NTSB inspector did every thing in his power to make it a
pilot
error, with the blame still being the new gasolator purchased from wag
areo.

The thing that still fries us is the fact that Wag Aero , to this day
still
sells that part to any one that wants to buy it... even after the NTSB.
testing
lab proved that the glue used was not compatible to aviation gas.... They
even
went so far as to try to blame our mechanic... that didn't work either.

I guess if the insurance ever got their money back from wag aero, we were
not
privy to that information.
