I can't think of any reason why this isn't "legal".

However, it's always possible to have mail2.dmj.nu that points to
the same IP address.

Of course, if a lot of people do this, the spammers will certainly
figure out ways around it, like maybe looking for an MX that
ultimately resolves to a different IP from the lowest-priority one.

Were things evolve to this point, the next step, of course, would be to point the other alias to a multihomed IP on the same server.
