This is a huge improvement on only ever being able to send via
a single interface from any one physical server. If you can
allocate a separate IP to some or all of your vhosts then you
can indeed "differ between different customers". Seeing that
SNI is not realistic with todays mail user agents then if you
are going to use SSL at all then separate IPs are mandatory.
