It did.  I had the permission from Wolfgang to do so, so it'd have been
OK legally to do so.  Given the recent discussions with John, we've
agreed to move toward keeping the full license text notices intact (not
replacing them), so that copying files around makes complying with the
Expat (MIT) license slightly easier.

I've now adjusted accordingly.  Please give it another look when you
have the chance.
