Use Value and Exchange Value are diametrically opposed within
    a commodity.

Use dominates Exchange except when Exchange dominates
    Use.

A tin of beans on a supermarket shelf is almost all Exchange
Value - it is waiting to be exchanged for cash -
but a plateful of beans on the dinner table is almost all
Use Value - it is waiting to be used to fill your stomach.

Raw materials - wood, iron, diamonds, coal only come onto
the market and become commodities once they have been
worked by hand in some way.
