Which part of this do you object to, Mark? I don't think that
Marxists, or Marx, have had much to say about the 'throw-away society'.
And neither do capitalist economists.

Isn't the attitude that..... we can do it, because we are doing it.....?

Just in your area of concentrated overview- oil production-, let's look
at one tiny aspect of the problem..... just the throw away highways
being built. Concrete and asphalt now criss-crosses everywhere.
is it maintainable, or is it throw-away? I am not even talking
about the cars, or other related petroleum based products, and wastage
related to usage of autos. Just the pavement.

What have capitalist economists, Marx, or marxists had to say about this
problem, or any of the many other similarly related problems of wastage?
Not to say that the issue has never been touched on, but it is certainly
not considered mainstream topic, when the issues of capitalism versus
planned economy comes up.

And how much bigger is the problem of wastage than just the problem of
the trilllions of dollars of paving materials that are in varying
degrees of being non-mantained and unused? When oil runs out, this
blight will become even more visible, as even its current use value
disintegrates.

It is the problem of wastage that appears to be the central area of
non-evaluation, by both capitalist and marxist economic theoreticians.
Occasionally talk is briefly made..... there's too much junk floating
around in space, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, but... what are the plans to
do something about this, etc.?

Have I overgeneralized again?

It is just another side of the problem of capitalist over-production.
Capitalism is over-producing junk.
And the problem of junk is a serious problem. Marx didn't talk
about it. Capitalist economists don't talk about it.

Mark replies-
<Tony, it would be possible to take you more seriously if you didn't
make wild and demonstrably false generalisations.>
