Geez,
must be nice to have shops around that even *know* what mandrel bending is! Most
of the places around here just give me a strange look or hum and hah when I ask
them if they do it.

Go to a muffler shop and have them custom-bend a 2.25" exhaust for you
from scratch. I've done this one 2 of my cars and have been VERY happy
with the results. It looks stock out the back (I had them install a
dual-tip finisher on the end), and with their "turbo muffler" that they
installed, the sound is nice and low, and not loud.

Just be sure that if they have to bend the pipes that they mandrel bend them. Most of your better shoppes do but I have heard of a few that don't. They either bend the pipes or they go out and weld in a bunch of elbows. :^P
But I agree with Ricky. That's what I did and basically have done with a lot of my past vehicles.
The end result is that you get a *custom* job that fits for about half the cost of the direct bolt on kits that are out there. I also like my exhaust systems to be welded rather than clamped. Clamps work if you're on a very tight budget but they look ugly and I've seen too many of them eventually fall off.Robert K. Kuhn
