Well, I would agree with the "backwards" issue...since I wrote the company and they said that some cars basically use a reverse polarity configuration. They recommended that I pop the wires from their harness, and reverse them...that this should fix the issue.
Other than that, it's idiot proof. The 9005 and 9006 have different grooves. So you can't actually plug it in backwards. There is literally only one way to put it together. And it is just as straight forward as you mention. You don't actually use the stock harness for the lights. You use the stock harness coming TO the lights, to give signal to the relays. And only on the driver's side. The power comes straight from the battery, and there is a ground for each light. I used my dremel to really grind away all paint from around the bolts I used to mount them. So I don't know how much better of a ground I can get. --- "Robert K.
