Hello,

As a late christmas present, let me tell you that I enabled Drupal users
to log into the Trac instance. It is not single sign-on, unfortunately
(I just cannot find out how to accomplish this, or if this actually is
possible), but it still means that there is a single user database for
the forums, the wiki and Trac.

This means that the last remaining item on my TODO list has just been
checked! Now, the question is how to go forward with this. Obviously,
the first thing to ask is: do you actually *want* the proposed new page?
I don't know how such decisions are made inside of the CrystalSpace
community (or even if there is such a decision-making process ;) ). By
the way, you can be sure that I will help with the page's administration
and content writing / updating as much as possible - which, for the time
being, is probably pretty much.

*If* you like to take the page, the following things would probably have
to be done next:

- Move the whole page to the existing webspace of the CrystalSpace
project in a subdirectory (like crystalspace3d.org/beta or so) and make
everything work there.

- Migrate the current CrystalSpace forums' users and topics using the
Simplemachines -> phpbb -> Drupal route I have tested earlier, and make
sure everything goes well.

- Write new content for the main pages (Home, About, Download etc.). We
can use what is on the current webpage as a base, but much is outdated
there, so simply doing a 1:1 copy wouldn't be worthwhile. This is also a
good opportunity to think about how we want to represent ourselves: what
do we think makes CrystalSpace expecially great from a technical
standpoint? It's flexible component-based design maybe? Why is
CrystalSpace developed as open source - simply practical reasons
(no-cost, easy to collaborate on, etc.) or for idealistic reasons? Who
do we target, specifically? In short, having something like a clearly
defined mission (statement) would help us greatly to consistently
represent CrystalSpace on the webpage and make it look good to potential
users. (Also, how do we want to use the name CrystalSpace? Only as the
name of the engine, or of the whole project, with the Crystalspace
engine and CEL both being part of it?)

How is your feedback?

Denis
