Confirmation this was unintended and will be fixed.

People here are way to quick to jump the gun generating all this mad conspiracy
theory.

</div>It should be, but it isn't. "Will I get drops" was the most common
question I have ever heard about my servers since the arms deal update.

I would definitely like to see some sort of clarification or confirmation from
someone at Valve that this is an issue, or just a new "feature". While drops
are definitely a perk of visiting a server, it should not be the basis of
people playing on your server (aside from those idle servers or whatever). A
successful server should be about good community, and having a unique and fun
server.

Agreed. If they're trying to kill us off, this definitely did it for me. My
servers have been empty since the update. I can't find a community server other
than surf with people in it. There will be no point paying this money to host
servers anymore.

Maybe 1.6 will see regrowth...

Just like ics, if the new drop system was intentional, I'm done with hosting
srcds since 2007. I don't have any more patience to wait for the next hit from
Valve straight in my face.

Word. Without us, the game would not be as big as it is today.
Been hosting servers since 2004 now.

Removing drops from our servers is simply not okay.
