I totally can't blame them. TF2 is already dead (nananananananana quickplayyy). Every game will at some point die from unpopularity. This will either be because people really lose interest, or changes make this happen (see tf2). There's been a history of this, so to speak. I honestly doubt without this madness there would even be enough attention to get this fixed.

Confirmation this was unintended and will be fixed.

People here are way to quick to jump the gun generating all this mad conspiracy theory.

It should be, but it isn't. "Will I get drops" was the most common question I have ever heard about my servers since the arms deal update.

I would definitely like to see some sort of clarification or
confirmation from someone at Valve that this is an issue, or just
a new "feature". While drops are definitely a perk of visiting a
server, it should not be the basis of people playing on your
server (aside from those idle servers or whatever). A successful
server should be about good community, and having a unique and fun
    server.

Agreed. If they're trying to kill us off, this definitely did
it for me. My servers have been empty since the update. I
can't find a community server other than surf with people in
it. There will be no point paying this money to host servers
        anymore.

        Maybe 1.6 will see regrowth...

Removing drops from our servers is simply not okay.
