If I remember correctly, Gmail’s file filtering is really stupid, and can be circumvented by literally just changing the file extension.
If they’ve improved it at all, I believe just stuffing it into a zip or 7z file (especially if encrypted) does the job well. (Seems dubious that mailing lists like this one would allow attachments at all, however.)
