Or do you geniuinely believe that quality developers will NOT get good jobs? I don't mean to be funny, but every single good developer I know (and yes I know a couple) have absolutely no problem securing jobs - with 1.5 years XP as you say there should be no problem getting a job if you are serious about it - and have good development skills - although I do agree attitude (of which you have IMO dispkayed a terrible side) is important as well...
I am truly sick and tired of people
moaning that there are not enough jobs etc - for crying out loud theres a ton of
work if you have the drive and skills to go get
it.

FYI - most developer jobs arent necessarily 8-5.
