Exactly!!! But I wonder *WHY* it would be necessary to consider changing
one's appearance in the process of justifying one's actions (past, present,
future). This also became a BIG issue with Martia Clark at the beginning
of the Orenthal trial. Also, for many who make or don't make the "Best
Dressed" list. Then there's the Jones person who decided the best thing to
do was to adjust her nose ... was Jones keeping up with the Carpenter
MacMillans?
Of course, when one, such as myself, grew up on Hippie ethic (if it feels
good, wear it)(substance, not appearance), these things sort of stand out.
The obvious observation is anyone who goes in for this sort of thing,
appearance changes/make-overs must have something to do with causing them
or those close to them some discomfort. Check out the daytime 'talks' for
the sheer number of shows that deal with this specific issue/action.
As Djuna Barnes wrote (or said), "Beauty is but an advertisement." Some
days ago, I posted an article about this subject. Do changes on the
outside really make a difference on the inside?
Beyond health considerations, who cares?
