This is a very interesting question. There is, of course, much in the bible
which is occultic in provenence which is only slightly hidden, but deeper
ideas may also be hidden as well. Consider the "orders" by YHWH to Saul and
other Kings of Israel to kill EVERYONE of the enemy, even the women and
children as well as all the animals. This is very much like a magical act to
erase the identity of the group for all time, a sacrifice of mammoth
proportions. Indeed, the sacrificial nature of Jewish religion could be seen
in a purely Magickal light, in that the spilling of blood, and SECRET rituals
by the ELITE of the society (priests), could garner favor from "supreme"
being(s), and give POWER to the practitioners.
