Consider the alternative. Do we really want to believe every story we
hear, and act like it's true? What about the ones that later turn out not
to be true?
This isn't about one single individual. What we do must be motivated by
factual circumstance. Otherwise we'll just make things worse for a lot of
people, ourselves included. The fact of the matter is that neither you nor
I nor almost anybody else knows what really happened to JonBenet Ramsey.
There has been a lot of speculation. Some of it sounds more plausable than
others, but so far it's all just speculation.
