I've been using SloppyFocus for as long as I can remember. It's particularly useful when you want to shift the focus to a lower window send it some input while keeping the previous window on top of the stack so it's completly visible, possibly examining it for changes. Usually changing focus with the keyboard raises the focused window obscuring the window on the stop of the stack, which is not what I want in all cases. This is the only time I use the mouse, I use the keyboard for all other focus shifts. I find it easy to hit touchpads changing focus even when click-to-focus is enabled so I usually disable them.
