This is my experience with DSL providers...SBC included. It takes them 15 days just to get the paperwork submitted to their provisioning team. Then they send you a letter advising you that your request has been submitted. Two weeks later you might have your equipment in the mail.
A friend of mine recently quit AT&T DSL and subscribed to SBC DSL. You might say that she jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Please keep us informed.
