Yep - that's the place to put the fiter. Just put a 2-way there, betweeen the filter and the demarc, and you're all set. Plug the filter into one side of the 2-way, and the rest of the voice phones into the filter. Use the other side of the 2-way for the DSL line - you can put the router there at the demarc, or run a separate line to wherever you wish to mount it. > I would like to know what > frequencies they are filtering? The DSL signal is actually a digital modulation, and, as such, occupies a frequency bandwidth *much* higher than any analog phone should respond. The main problem is that no two phones are made the same - you can plug two different phones into a line, on one you will hear scratching when the DSL is connected and active, on the other it can be perfectly quiet. > What carrier frequency? You'd have to Google a spec for that. As it's not an RFC, I'm not sure what specifications govern the various DSL signal specs. > Does the DSL modem modulate/demodulate like the dialup modem at a different > frequency? No, it's a put digital signal (as I understand the differences). The modulation is similar to a T1 circuit, but, obviously, with a different signal protocol. > I'll read the friendly manual if I have to.
