you generally can't save information typed into a pdf. ( i think only

I dont know if it is an acrobat reader 'feature' or not (to save
info in
forms). I am curious. Does anyone have more knowledge of acrobat's
inner workings?
Jon sent me same form he created with Scribus. I opened it on OS X
with Preview (a PDF and image viewer), filled it in, and saved it. I
had no problem opening up the saved file and copy-and-pasting the
information out of it. I'll try later to use pdf2text to see if I
can extract the information.
However, when I tried to do the same thing using Adobe's Acrobat
Reader, it would not let me save the information. Also, printing as
a PDF from Acrobat Reader generated un-selectable text. Does anyone
know if any of the pdf readers under Linux allow saving of field
information? IIRC, Scott mentioned something about kpdf(?) had some
really cool features.
